E-commerce Platform (Payment Gateway)
An e-commerce platform processing 500+ daily transactions was experiencing repeated payment failures and suspected fraudulent activities through their integrated payment gateway.
OWASP ZAP automated scan combined with manual API security testing. Analyzed payment gateway integration logs and transaction flows.
Discovered logical vulnerability allowing price manipulation during checkout. Identified 3 payment gateway misconfigurations enabling card testing attacks. After remediation, transaction success rate improved by 40%. Zero fraud incidents in following 6 months.
Why I Started Cyber Defence
My journey into cybersecurity began during my defence training, where I first encountered the critical importance of digital security in national operations. While others focused on hardware systems, I saw the emerging threat landscape in cyberspace — and knew that India would need skilled defenders, not just soldiers.
After completing my training, I pursued certifications in ethical hacking (CEH from EC-Council) and advanced red teaming (CRTA). But I quickly realized something troubling: students and professionals in Haryana had almost no access to quality cybersecurity education. Most had to travel to metro cities or rely on outdated YouTube tutorials and pirated courses to learn this critical skill.
I established Cyber Defence in 2018 with a clear mission: bring world-class cybersecurity training to Haryana. I wanted to create an institute where anyone — whether a fresh graduate from Hisar or a working professional from Chandigarh — could learn ethical hacking through real attack scenarios, not just theory.
What started as a small batch of 5 students in a single room has grown into Haryana's only ISO-certified cybersecurity training institute. We've trained over 1,100 students, many of whom now work at top security firms, banks, and government agencies. Some have started their own security consultancies. Watching those transformations — students becoming professionals — is what drives me every single day.
The honour of training India's defence forces — Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, and BSF — remains one of the proudest milestones. It validated that Cyber Defence's training methodology meets the highest standards of rigour and practical expertise.
My goal extends beyond individual training: I want to make Haryana a recognized hub for cybersecurity talent. Every ethical hacker we train contributes to a safer digital India. No one should have to leave Haryana to get quality cybersecurity education — world-class training is available right here in Hisar.
