Ethical Hacking in Delhi
Ethical hacking in Delhi means legally testing systems with permission to find weaknesses before criminals do. It is legal under Indian law only when authorised — unauthorised access is an offence under Section 66 of the IT Act, 2000. Delhi has a growing hacker community, active bug bounty hunters, and NCR employers hiring VAPT engineers at ₹6–12 LPA. Cyber Defence trains Delhi learners online from ₹60,000.

The law first: what is and is not allowed
Legal: testing systems you own; practising on deliberately vulnerable lab machines and CTF platforms; testing a client's systems under a written authorisation that names the targets, the window and the permitted techniques; participating in a bug bounty program strictly inside its published scope.
Illegal: scanning or exploiting any system without permission — including “just checking” a local website; accessing someone's account, phone or WhatsApp for any reason; installing monitoring software on a device you do not own. Section 66 of the IT Act, 2000 carries up to three years imprisonment and/or a fine; Section 43 adds civil liability for damage or data theft.
Frequently asked, always refused: we do not recover hacked accounts by hacking back, do not monitor anyone's phone, and do not test a system on a caller's word that they own it. Written authorisation or no engagement.
How to become an ethical hacker in Delhi — the realistic path
Learn the boring foundations
TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, subnetting and the Linux command line. Every learner who skips this stalls at month three, without understanding why their exploit fails.
Build a lab you can break
Kali Linux plus vulnerable VMs on your own laptop. This is the single biggest difference between people who learn hacking and people who watch videos about hacking.
Get structured on exploitation
Metasploit, privilege escalation, post-exploitation and web exploitation are where self-study breaks down. This is what a good course is actually for.
Write things down
Every box you break, write a report. Report writing is the skill that gets you hired and gets bounties accepted — and it is the one nobody practises.
Build a public profile
CTF results, blog writeups, accepted reports, a GitHub with your tooling. Delhi interviewers look at this before your certificate.
Then take the certification
CEH or equivalent validates what you can already do. A certificate without lab hours behind it is transparent in the first technical interview.
