What this track will not do for you

Kali Linux is a toolbox, not a job title — nobody is hired as a Kali expert. This track makes you fluent enough that the operating system stops being the obstacle, so networking, web and exploitation skills can be built on top. Treat it as month one of a longer path, not a career in itself.

Who this is for

Right for absolute beginners, BCA, BSc and diploma students, and IT support staff who keep breaking their Kali VM and want a foundation before attempting ethical hacking. Not right for you if you already script in bash, read nmap output fluently, or expect a single tooling course to produce a job offer on its own.

Prerequisites: A laptop with at least 8GB RAM and roughly 60GB free disk for virtualisation, plus ordinary computer literacy — files, folders, installing software. No Linux background is assumed; we start at the first command. No programming needed. The one real requirement is a willingness to type commands instead of clicking buttons.

The picture in Sikkim

Sikkim rests on three pillars: pharmaceutical manufacturing clustered along the Rangpo–Singtam industrial corridor in the east, tourism drawn by Kanchenjunga and the monasteries, and hydropower. Tourism operators are already digitally fluent, running bookings across travel portals, Instagram and WhatsApp.

Kali Linux Course syllabus

5 weeks · 30 hours (live online, or at the Hisar campus). Every module is hands-on — you work on your own machine from Sikkim, never against systems you do not own.

01. Getting Kali running properly

  • First bash scripts: loops over hosts and wordlists

03. Recon and scanning

  • whois, dig and host for passive information
  • netdiscover and arp-scan on a local segment
  • Nmap scan types, timing and NSE scripts
  • Service and version enumeration, banner reading
  • Output discipline with -oA and a real note-taking habit

04. The tool families you will actually use

  • Burp Suite Community as an intercepting proxy
  • Content discovery with gobuster, dirb and ffuf
  • Nikto and basic web server checks
  • Hydra against your own lab login pages
  • Metasploit basics: msfconsole, search, exploit, meterpreter

05. Wireless and password work

  • Monitor mode, supported chipsets and the aircrack-ng suite
  • Capturing a handshake on your own access point
  • John the Ripper and hashcat fundamentals
  • Wordlists, rules and why rockyou is not magic
  • Why most real-world Wi-Fi attacks fail today

06. Lab, ethics and workflow

  • Building a legal home lab: Metasploitable, DVWA, VulnHub images
  • IT Act 2000 sections 43 and 66 — where testing becomes a crime
  • Written permission and scope before you scan anything
  • Evidence, screenshots and reproducible steps
  • Writing a short, clean findings note

Is a Kali Linux course enough to get a cyber security job?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Kali is the environment your later skills run in. Employers hire for web application testing, network security, SOC monitoring or forensics — Kali fluency is assumed, not rewarded. Most learners take this track first and then move to our web security, ethical hacking or SOC-oriented courses.

Kya main bina Linux jaane ye course kar sakta hoon?

Haan. Module 2 poori tarah Linux command line ke liye hai — file system, permissions, processes, bash — sab zero se. Aapko sirf apna laptop chalana aana chahiye. Class ke baad recordings milti hain, aur har command practice lab me khud type karani hoti hai, tabhi seekh aati hai.

What laptop do I need, and can I install Kali as my main OS?

Any machine with 8GB RAM, a dual-core or better CPU and around 60GB free disk will run Kali comfortably in VirtualBox. We strongly recommend a virtual machine rather than a bare-metal install while you are learning, because snapshots let you break the system and restore it in seconds.

What certificate do I get at the end?

You receive a Cyber Defence course completion certificate with a public verification link, issued after the final lab assessment. It is our own certificate. We are not an EC-Council or OffSec exam centre — if you want CEH or OSCP, those exams are bought directly from those vendors, and we can tell you honestly when you are ready.
