Most ethical hacking courses in Gurgaon sell the same syllabus and deliver very different things. The difference is not the module list — it is whether you attack a real lab in the first weeks or sit through two months of slides. Here is what a serious six-month course looks like, and what it should cost in Gurgaon.

Before anything else: the law

Ethical hacking is legal in India only when it is authorised. You may test systems you own, purpose-built lab machines, and a client's systems under written permission that names the targets and the window. Unauthorised access to any computer resource is an offence under Section 66 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, punishable by up to three years imprisonment and/or a fine, with further liability under Section 43 for damage or data theft. "I was only learning" is not a defence. Any institute that has you scanning live websites for practice is putting you at legal risk — ask them directly what you will be testing.

Six months, month by month

  1. Foundations. Networking, Linux command line, virtual lab setup, and the legal boundaries above. You build your own Kali environment and break your first deliberately vulnerable machine.
  2. Recon and scanning. Passive and active OSINT, Google dorking, Nmap, service enumeration, vulnerability scanning. You learn to map an attack surface before touching it.
  3. Exploitation. Metasploit, password attacks, privilege escalation on Linux and Windows, post-exploitation. This is where self-taught learners stall without guidance.
  4. Web and API hacking. The OWASP Top 10 exploited hands-on — SQLi, XSS, SSRF, IDOR — with Burp Suite workflows and JWT/API attacks. The highest-paying skill in the course.
  5. Wireless, mobile and the human layer. Wi-Fi attacks, Android APK analysis, and social engineering understood as a defender.
  6. Reporting and bug bounty. Writing a report that gets accepted, proof-of-concept discipline, choosing programs, and building a public researcher profile.

Fees in Gurgaon

Ethical hacking courses in Gurgaon run roughly ₹20,000–₹1,00,000 depending on depth and on whether the EC-Council CEH exam voucher is bundled — it usually is not. Cyber Defence charges ₹60,000 for the full six-month CEH-aligned course with EMI, and ₹15,000 for the shorter cyber security course that covers the hacking fundamentals and can be upgraded later.

What you will actually be defending in Gurgaon

Syllabi look identical on every institute website. What makes the training stick is practising against the attacks that genuinely land where you live. In Gurgaon those look like this:

  • Udyog Vihar: Insider data leakage from shift-based BPO floors, unpatched on-premise servers in older industrial plots, and payroll or vendor invoice fraud against small export firms.
  • Sushant Lok: Unregistered small offices running consumer data on unsecured broadband, and the neighbourhood pattern of investment and part-time-job WhatsApp scams targeting residents.
  • Sector 14: Student-targeted scams: fake internship and placement offers, cheap-subscription phishing, and account takeover through password reuse across social and college portals.
  • Sector 45: Society visitor-management and CCTV systems left on default credentials, and school-fee payment phishing sent to parent groups on WhatsApp.
  • Manesar: Operational-technology exposure where plant networks touch corporate IT, plus supplier email compromise across a long tier-2 and tier-3 component chain.

None of that is exotic. It is reconnaissance, credential theft, social engineering and payment-flow abuse — the exact chain the exploitation and web modules teach you to reproduce in a lab and then shut down.

Where the CEH certificate actually fits

CEH validates what you can already do. A certificate with no lab hours behind it is transparent in the first technical interview — you will be asked what you have broken, not what you have watched. Treat the certification as the last step, not the first.

Learning from anywhere in Gurgaon

Classes are live online, so learners join from across the city — Udyog Vihar, MG Road, DLF Phase 3, Sector 29, Sector 45, Sector 82 and every other locality listed on the ethical hacking course in Gurgaon page.

FAQ

Is ethical hacking legal in Gurgaon?

Yes, when authorised. Testing systems you own, lab machines, or a client's systems under written permission is legal anywhere in India. Unauthorised access is an offence under Section 66 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 — up to three years imprisonment and/or fine — with further liability under Section 43 for damage or data theft.

How long does it take to learn ethical hacking?

Structured basics take about three months; genuine job-readiness takes six months of consistent lab practice. Anyone promising a hacker career in two weeks is selling a certificate, not a skill.

What are ethical hacking course fees in Gurgaon?

Roughly ₹20,000–₹1,00,000 across Gurgaon, depending on depth and whether the EC-Council exam voucher is included. Cyber Defence charges ₹60,000 for the full six-month CEH-aligned course with EMI available.

Can a beginner start ethical hacking?

Yes. A good course assumes no prior security knowledge and starts with networking, Linux and lab setup. What separates people who learn hacking from people who watch videos about it is lab hours, not background.
