Cyber security course fees in Pune range from about ₹10,000 to well over ₹1,00,000, and the price tells you almost nothing about the quality. This guide breaks the Pune market into tiers, explains what each tier actually buys, and lists the charges institutes tend not to mention until after you have paid a registration fee.

The fee tiers in Pune

  • Under ₹10,000 — recorded courses. Videos and a PDF certificate. Completion rates for recorded-only courses are in the single digits, and nobody notices when you stop. Fine as a taster, not as training.
  • ₹10,000–₹25,000 — short certificate courses. Fundamentals, some live teaching, limited lab access. A reasonable entry point if the teaching is genuinely live.
  • ₹25,000–₹60,000 — job-oriented courses. Live teaching, real labs, portfolio work, placement support. This is the band most first security jobs come from.
  • ₹35,000–₹1,00,000 — CEH training. Covers the EC-Council CEH objectives. Check whether the exam voucher is included; it usually is not.
  • ₹60,000–₹1,50,000 — one-year diplomas. Worth it only if the internship attached to it is real and named.
  • ₹1.4 lakh and above — university degrees. Necessary for research and some government roles, not required for a SOC or VAPT job.

Four charges to ask about before you pay

Lab access fee. Some institutes price the course and the lab separately, so a "₹20,000 course" becomes ₹32,000 the moment you want to practise. Ask: is lab access included for the full duration?

Study material fee. Sometimes charged per module. Ask for the total material cost across the whole course, in writing.

Certificate issuance fee. A charge to release the certificate you already paid to earn. Ask whether issuance and verification are included.

Exam voucher. The EC-Council CEH voucher is a separate international payment and is rarely bundled anywhere. Ask the current price and who pays it.

What the Pune market looks like

Pune has a mature training market. Classroom providers include SevenMentor, Boston Institute of Analytics at Shivajinagar, JetKing on JM Road, I-Medita, Indian Cyber Security Solutions and Cybervault; the degree route runs through MIT-WPU, Symbiosis Skills and Professional University, Pimpri Chinchwad University and IIIT Pune. Published certificate fees range widely, roughly ₹20,000 to over ₹1 lakh. Cyber Defence competes on small live batches taught by one CEH- and CRTA-certified trainer, not on campus footprint.

Who is actually paying these fees in Pune

The answer differs sharply by neighbourhood, which is why a single "Pune average fee" is a misleading number. A few examples from across the city:

Hinjewadi. Service-company engineers on bench or in support roles moving into SOC L1, plus freshers who joined a campus offer and want a security track.

Kalyani Nagar. Startup developers and single-handed sysadmins who need practical hardening and incident response rather than theory.

Wakad. Final-year engineering students from the Tathawade campuses plus first-job IT staff living in Wakad.

Karve Nagar. Engineering undergraduates, particularly women students from Cummins looking at security as a first career track.

A student living beside a campus and a mid-career engineer in a corporate park are buying different things with the same fee — the first is buying a first job, the second is buying a role change. Both are reasonable; only one of them should be paying diploma prices.

What Cyber Defence charges

The cyber security course is ₹15,000 for 3–4 months (120+ hours) and the CEH-aligned ethical hacking course is ₹60,000 for 6 months (180 hours). EMI is available on both. There is no lab fee, no material fee and no certificate issuance fee; the EC-Council voucher is bought from EC-Council separately, as it is everywhere. Classes are live online, so Pune learners join from anywhere in the city — including Hinjewadi, Hadapsar, Koregaon Park, Aundh, Chinchwad.

Does a higher fee mean a better course?

No. Above roughly ₹60,000 the extra money usually buys brand, a physical classroom, or a bundled exam voucher — not better teaching. Below ₹10,000 you are almost always buying recordings. The real quality signals are whether the teaching is live, whether there is a lab you attack in the first weeks, and who the named trainer is.

FAQ

What are cyber security course fees in Pune?

Short certificate courses run ₹10,000–₹25,000, job-oriented 3–6 month courses ₹25,000–₹60,000, CEH training ₹35,000–₹1,00,000 with the exam voucher charged separately, one-year diplomas ₹60,000–₹1,50,000, and university degrees considerably more. Cyber Defence charges ₹15,000 for its 3–4 month cyber security course and ₹60,000 for the 6-month CEH-aligned track, both with EMI.

What is the cheapest cyber security course in Pune?

Genuinely cheap options are recorded-video courses under ₹10,000, and their completion rates are very low. The cheapest sensible option is a live-taught course in the ₹15,000–₹25,000 band. If budget is the constraint, use EMI rather than dropping to recordings — paying ₹5,000 for something you never finish costs more than ₹15,000 for something you do.

Is EMI available for cyber security courses in Pune?

Yes at most institutes, including ours. EMI is worth using when it lets you take a live-taught course instead of a recorded one. It is not worth using to buy a ₹1,50,000 diploma for a job that a ₹15,000–₹60,000 course prepares you for equally well.
