The realistic plan after 12th

- Option B — course first, degree later. Sensible if finances are tight or you want to earn early. Get to a first SOC role, then take a distance or evening degree while employed.

The cyber security course is ₹15,000 for 3–4 months and the CEH-aligned ethical hacking course ₹60,000 for 6 months, both with EMI. On the other side: Gurugram pays at the upper end of the NCR range for the same title, and consultancy or product-security roles usually out-pay BPO-attached SOC seats. Certification plus a demonstrable lab portfolio moves the offer more than a degree alone.

Two things get sold hard to school leavers and both deserve suspicion. The first is "100% placement guarantee" — that is marketing language, not a contract; ask what it means in writing. The second is any course promising you will become a hacker in weeks. Six months of lab practice is the realistic figure, and anyone shortening it is shortening your skills, not the timeline.
